Liverpool Santa Dash

Welcome to the Liverpool Santa Dash website for the Speedy Santas. The Santa Dash is a 5km run around Liverpool on 4th December 2011!

A bit more about the Liverpool Santa Dash?

It is a 5km run around the streets of Liverpool dressed as, of course, Santa! The organisers are aiming for 8,000 santas this year to ensure that Liverpool regains the title of the largest Santa Dash!

This will be our 4th year participating in the Santa Dash and we are, as always, excited for the event! We have done the dash over the past few years for various charities including MS Society and Cash for Kids. As a team we have raised over £700 which we are very proud of.

The dash is organised by Run Liverpool and over the past few years has seen a wide variety of weathers from -8°C icy conditions, bright sunshine, pouring rain and snow, although the snow was artificial and covered the Santas when the crossed the finish line.

About the Santa Dash

The Santa Dash has been going on for many years all around the world and this will be the 8th year that it has been held in Liverpool and runs from the Liver Buildings to the Town Hall (5km) and there is also a 1km Mini Santa Dash for children.

But this year we have Newtown hot on our trail who were the original record holders. It is said that this is the last year that they are taking part and because of that they are determined to win…

…but we’ll beat them all!

Why do the Liverpool Santa Dash?

The Santa Dash is above all great fun whatever your athletic ability! Some people run, some people walk, some people do a bit of both and some Santas even stop off at the pub half way round (although this isn’t on the official route).

However, the Dash is also a great way to raise a bit of money for those charities which you think deserve it the most! And every little helps so no matter how much you raise, the Liverpool Santa Dash is a brilliant, fun way to do it!
